Proper Dosing of Pulmon EZ for horses with EIPH (Bleeders)
Dose AM and PM, 3cc powder minimum per 100 lbs body weight for 30
days.
Do not work the horse at all for at least the first 14 days, to give
the horse a chance to heal.
If the owner wants to resume working the horse just to keep it loose
and fit (after 14 days complete rest), they can begin light jogging
and loping/cantering. But nothing that causes the horse to blow or
even sweat. Make certain to give the horse many breaks. Again time is
needed for the body's own healing process. If the horse starts coughing, you are back to
square 1 again.
After 30 days dosing AM and PM, you can drop to 1 dose per day.
On days of heavy works, or on race day,
dose normal in the AM, then do a double dose (6cc powder per 100 lbs
bodyweight) close before the race. Follow w/ a single dose soon after
the race.
Doses are given orally, mixed with water,
and with zero feed 1 hour before and 1 hour after each dose.
Fresh Clean water does not need to be withheld.
Make certain the horse is not receiving any nitric oxide inhibiting
substances including: bute, banamine, glucosamine, MSM, chondroitan
sulfate, bosweilia, yucca, devils claw, dexamethasone (Azium), DMSO,
cortisone, or tetracycines. This is a partial list of the most common
NO2 inhibitors given to horses. if you have a question about a
substance, please call the office at 888-917-8565
The money back guarantee is when the product is used as directed for
30 days. If all the dosing and resting recommendations are followed,
and the horse still bleeds after.. there will be a refund of the
purchase price.
****Also.. please remember that if the
horse has a possibility of gastric ulcers, it is better to address those first. As the
Pulmon EZ
will be much more effective if it is not trying to nutritionally
address 2 problems at once. Since ulcers can be very serious, best to
address those first with GastroPLUS.
